"Heps" Hold Smoker. |

Lotus Conclave No. 127, I.O.H., held a smoker in the Armory Thursday
evening, to which a large number of cards of invitation were issued, and a
most enjoyable evening was spent. Speeches were made by Mr. Oln Bryan and Mr. Cruett of Baltimore. They spoke earnestly on matters pertaining to the organization and held the audience spellbound. It was altogether a gala night for the "Heps." Coffee and Sandwiches ere served and cigars circulated freely among the guests. While the smoker was in progress, earnest workers in the lodge were getting new applicants for membership. |
Mrs. Hannah Hughes, of Philadelphia, formerly of Danville, has
announced the marriage of her daughter, Miss Laura M. Hughes to Frank C.
Olds, of Syracuse, New York, on Monday, April 17. The ceremony took place
at the home of the bride’s mother. The bride made a charming appearance
in a gown of salmon georgette trimmed with white pearl beads. After a honeymoon to Atlantic City Mr. and Mrs. Olds will go to housekeeping at 1718 North 52nd Street, Philadelphia. |

Laura M. Olds, 90, 6900 Manasota Key Road, Englewood, died Tuesday (Feb
4, 1986) at home. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Carpenter of Englewood; six grandchildren; for great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Rawles Heritage Plan Funeral Home, Venice Chapel, with services to follow. Interment will be at Sarasota Memorial Park. |
Frank C. Olds, 802 Bogle, Country Club Estates, Venice, died Sunday at
a nursing home. He had lived in the Venice area for the last eight years,
coming from Philadelphia, Pa. He was a native of New York state and was a
retired building contractor. He leaves his wife, Laura M. Olds; a daughter, Mrs. V. Miles (Jeanne) Carpenter of Manasota Key; three brothers, Meriod Olds of Cortland, N.Y.; Walter Olds of Havertown, Pa. and Orin K. Olds of Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two sons died while serving in the U.S. Navy. |
Frank C. Olds Sr., a retired self employed building contractor, died
Oct. 19 in Venice, Fla., where he had lived since 1967. He was 79. Mr. Olds was a retired Lt. Colonel with the Centennial Legion of Historic Military Commands, Inc., and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are his wife, the former Laura Hughes; a daughter, Mrs. Jeanne Carpenter; three brothers, six granchildren and three great-grandchildren. |

Frank C. Olds, Jr., 47, of 247 Prince Frederick st, King of Prussia,
died suddenly on Monday at Sacred Heart Hospital. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Nancy, wife of George Denczi, sherry Lake Apts., Conshohocken; two sons, Wayne and Bruce, at home; one sister Jeanne, wife of Miles Carpenter, Englewood, Fla., and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Valley Forge Presbyterian Church, Town Center rd. and Prince Frederick st., King of Prussia. The Rev. Joseph L. Jensen Jr., pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at Valley Forge Gardens. The family will received friends in the multi-purpose room at the church 7 to 8 Wednesday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund in care of the church. Arrangements are with the Boyd-Horrox Funeral Home, 718 Swede St. |
