Arthur D. Hughes died at his home, Cherry street, this city, at 8:30
o’clock yesterday morning following a brief illness of pneumonia. |
The funeral of Arthur D. Hughes, whose death occurred Thursday, took
place from the family residence, Cherry street, at 1:30 o’clock
Saturday afternoon. |

Mrs. Catherine Waters Hughes, a well known resident of Danville, departed
this life at 4:20 o’clock yesterday afternoon. She had been in
poor health for some years, her last illness being a complication of
pneumonia and heart trouble. Her condition while grave, was hardly
thought to foreshadow early death, and her departure was wholly unlooked
for when it came. Mrs. Hughes was very ill of pneumonia just one year
ago and the fact is cited that of late year she has passed through
eight stages of that exhaustive and often fatal disease. |
Mrs. Catherine Waters Hughes, whose death occurred Thursday, will be consigned to the grave on Monday. The funeral will take place from the family residence, Ferry street, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Episcopal cemetery. |
